Short answer Nossy does not replace Loyverse. Loyverse is a point of sale. It knows what was sold at the counter. It does not know that the supplier delivered short, that a staff member paid the garbage fee out of pocket, or that the aircon service is due. That half of the shop lives in the group chat, and Nossy is what turns it into a record.

What Loyverse is for

Loyverse is a point of sale for small businesses. The core app is free, it runs on ordinary Android and iOS phones and tablets, and it works with barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers. It keeps selling when the internet drops. It tracks stock in real time with low-stock alerts and transfers between locations, and it has a built-in loyalty programme. Employee management and advanced inventory are paid add-ons. For a cafe or a small shop that needs a till this week, it is hard to beat, and it is free.

Where it breaks in a chat-run shop

The till only knows the counter

Loyverse records what was sold. It does not record the delivery that arrived two crates short, the supplier who has not been paid, the deposit a customer sent by transfer on a Sunday, or the fact that the coffee machine is due its deep clean. Those are real events with real money attached, and the POS was never the place for them.

The rest of the shop is in the group chat

So that is where it stays. The photo of the delivery note, the “who is covering Saturday”, the message about the broken grinder. All of it real, all of it scrolling away. At month end the owner reads the chat back and tries to reconstruct what happened.

Two records that never meet

The till has one version of the stock. The group chat has the version where somebody took four bottles for a catering job and told everyone. Neither is wrong and neither is complete, and the count never matches.

The interview picks up what recurs and Nossy arms those loops when the chat connects: the machine clean, the filing deadline, the stock count on Friday, the supplier still owing a delivery. It nudges the owner and the staff inside the same chat, and it stops a reminder series once the conversation shows the job is done.

What Nossy does not do

Loyverse is free for the core POS, runs on cheap Android or iOS hardware, works offline when the connection drops, and handles inventory and loyalty at the counter properly. A shop that needs a till today should install it, and Nossy replaces none of it.
Loyverse gives you a real screen. Sales by hour, by item, by employee, on a dashboard you can look at. Nossy answers in chat and builds a report page when the answer is long, which is less to look at than a POS back office.

Common questions

Do I still need Loyverse?

If you take payments at a counter, yes. Nossy does not process payments, does not print receipts, does not open a cash drawer, and is not a point of sale. Keep the till and let Nossy handle what happens around it.

Will my staff actually use it?

They already use the group chat during every shift. Nossy joins it. There is no second app on the counter tablet and no login for staff, which matters most for the people who are not on the till.

What does it cost compared to Loyverse?

The Loyverse POS app is free, with paid Back Office add-ons for unlimited sales history, employee management, and advanced inventory (as of 2026-08, see loyverse.com). Nossy is $20, $40, or $100 a month per business. Nossy is the bigger spend, and it is buying a different thing.

What happens to my data if I stop?

Nossy's workbook is a spreadsheet in your own Google Drive and it stays there with every row. Your Loyverse sales history is unaffected either way, since Nossy never touches it.
