Short answer Notion is a workspace someone maintains. Nossy is an assistant that maintains the records for you. What Notion is for

Notion is a workspace where documents, notes, and lightweight databases live together. A page can hold a table, and the table can hold pages. Small teams use it for handbooks, procedures, project notes, and a shared brain that is much nicer to read than a folder of files. It is one of the best writing and organising tools a small team can pick, and it is free for a lot of what a small shop needs.

A Notion workspace is only as current as the person tending it. That person is usually the owner. Three weeks in, the database of orders has last month’s entries and a page called “to sort out”. The workspace did not fail. It just needed an hour a week that nobody had.

It is a place you go, during a shift when nobody goes anywhere

Filing a delivery means opening the app, finding the database, and adding a row, while the delivery driver waits. The staff member sends a message to the group chat instead, because that is one tap and it is already open. The message is a real record. It is just not in Notion.

Free text swallows the structure

Notion makes it easy to type a sentence where a field should be. So the order database grows a notes column that holds the actual information, and the columns beside it stay empty. It reads fine to a human and it cannot be counted.

Common questions

Can Nossy replace Notion?

For daily operational records, yes. For documents, procedures, and a team wiki, no. Nossy writes rows in a spreadsheet and answers questions from them. It does not write or store documents for you to browse.

Will my staff actually use it?

Staff use the group chat they are already in. That is the point of the design. A Notion workspace asks the team to open something else during a shift, and in a busy shop that is the step where the record gets lost.

What does it cost compared to Notion?

Notion has a free personal plan and charges per member per month on paid plans (as of 2026-08, see notion.com/pricing). Nossy charges one price per business: $20 on Plus, $40 on Pro, $100 on Max, with no seat charge.

What happens to my data if I stop?

The workbook is a spreadsheet in your own Google Drive, so it stays where it is and stays readable. There is no workspace to lose access to and nothing to export.
